I am a kiwi girl living in Thailand. In Thai the word for foreigner is ‘Forang’ and I am sick of feeling like a big fat forang. I am bigger than the average Thai and I often get comments about my weight… in fact, when I go into shops the owners are quite blunt in pointing out that nothing in there will fit me.
I am sick of being a ‘Big Fat Forang’ so I am on a mission to loose weight, I want to go from 80kg to 65kg. This blog is an online journal primarily for me to help me meet my goals. I figure if I write them down, keep a record of my weekly plans and progress - I might actually meet my goals and shed the kilos!!
I have made this blog public in case others are interested in my journey from 80kg to 65kg, at this stage I haven’t shared the link with my close friends and family. If you are reading this feel free to post comments - it’s always lovely to hear from others who are trying to achieve the same goals!
what are you doing in Thailand? Are you teaching? I’m teaching in Korea.
Im doing a mixture of things over here… I got a one year working holiday visa for Thailand so I have done some travel, a bit of volunteer work (teaching in a rural school) and now I am working from my dads house for a few months…. Im thinking of teaching in korea next, might flick you an email! : )

I too am a big fat foreigner! Only here in Korea we call them “big pat way-gooks.” Way-gook is the word for foreigner, and we have a hard time with the “F” sound, so I’m used to being called “pat,” or “big-size!” (Thanks, store owner lady!) Anyway, it looks like you’ve had similar struggles as me, but you’re doing great! And your starting weight is my second mini-goal!
